a rainbow of sorts

She quietly colored for a least a half hour the other morning. Basically she tried out each color and then laid it carefully in a line. Totally the kind of coloring/organizing I did as a kid.

art project

The girls had so much fun playing with their masks that I actually lost track of time and put them down for naps late. That never happens.

This is a very simple project. I used: free printable masks from the internet, some markers, scissors, hole punch, tape and ribbon. I let them color first since the little ones go out of the lines so much. Alli cut hers out with the exception of the eye holes. I placed tape over the ribbon holes to prevent tearing then punched them out and tied a length of ribbon in each one. The twins thought wearing masks was hilarious, and Alli totally got into her character as a cat.

indoor day

If you've ever potty trained a toddler, I expect you will have sympathy for me today x2. Day 1, actually quite encouraging, with many successes for both the girls, and only a few mishaps. As it turns out, those girls pee often, especially when pumped full of lemonade. The major down-side in my opinion is having to stick around the house for a few days so the girls can be pants-less. TMI? Sorry, it's easy to get carried away. My point is, we spent a lot of time home today and worked on some excellent art projects. Grace, being the scoundrel that she is, painted her mouth pink. She also got into my lipstick this morning, but I didn't get a shot of that.

renegade swag

I thought I'd share an amazing piece I picked up at Renegade Fair last weekend. I was lucky enough to trade for 2 of them with the incredibly talented Sita Rupe. She having a baby soon, who will be wrapped up in a ciuccio blanket. This one fits in nicely on the mantle.

etsy finds

We had a party a few weeks ago, and several of the guests asked about our art collection. We've been slowly collecting over the years, but many of my favorites have come from etsy. Over the last year+ that I've been blogging, many of these artists have been featured. But here they are all together, in a big "go buy art" list.
