renegade is coming
I'm starting realize that every spare minute I have should be used to make products for the Renegade Craft Fair. It is the largest fair of its kind in the area and always a success for me and The Heated. This year I'm keeping it simple, selling bow ties, neckties pocket squares and scraps. The Heated has a few new designs to check out. Come and see us!

this weekend
Renegade Craft Fair is this weekend. It's by far the biggest fair we've done, and this year we have some new products for sale. this humble abode will be selling neckties, pocket squares, toddler aprons, reusable ribbons and loveys (security blankets). The Heated will have white and natural flour sack dishtowels and...wait for it...drum roll...organic canvas tote bags! They are made here in San Francisco and are gorgeous quality. We chose big enough ones to take to the grocery store and actually be useful 'cause we're like that. Bags are printed on both sides and will be $20.
Please come see us if you live in the Bay Area! Booth #116, center aisle about halfway down.

renegade re-cap, sort of
I'm too pooped to write much about renegade, but this weekend went well. We sold lots, saw old friends, made new ones and even did a tiny bit of shopping. All the work we put into building the booth paid off, we got loads of compliments and both felt that our goods were finally being displayed properly. Next time we need a good cart for the loading/unloading, but the rest was smooth sailing.

building
The advantage to living with someone who can build is that we're going to have an awesome booth at Renegade. The disadvantage is living in the middle of a construction site. We really need a garage!

another working "vacation"
The kids are gone for two weeks. I'm not saying this in a complainy way, but I have so much work to do while they're away. The ties are coming along, I have about 25 of them cut out and my goal is to have at least 30 for the fair. Last night, I worked on a special order bow tie and will declare it a success with minor flaws. I need to tweak the pattern, but it wasn't at all hard and for that I am glad. I think I'll whip up a few extras to bring along to Renengade.

my house is a mess
You would not believe the piles of dishtowels that are all printed, folded and tagged in our dining room. For the last few nights we've eaten dinner from the couch because the table was too crowded. The twine we have running down the hallway have been packed, but at last are empty again. With the exception of minor signage adjustments, we're ready for Austin.

will travel
We're using Renegade's first trip to Austin as an excuse to go see the city. Traveling with all of our gear is going to be a new experience, so we have to start planning it like yesterday. I'm hoping to have a large stack of aprons to sell. And The Heated has a few new designs in the works, which can be previewed here.

nice package
We sold some of our goods at Rose and Radish last week as well as a cool craft fair/holiday party at a friend's house. It's been good to have a little practice before Renegade (this weekend!)

I'm buried deeply in preparations.

How would you like the recipe for English Toffee? Stay tuned- I've been photographing the process.

buy it
My weekends have been full of canning, both for our own pantry and for Renegade. Here are a few of the goods you'll be able to buy.

planning ahead
I know it seems like a long way away (or does it?) but the holidays are pretty much here. The Heated and this humble abode ( sometimes also known as ciuccio) are putting together some fun things to sell at the Renegade Fair. Don't toffee and a dishtowel sound like a good match? Please come shop.

renegade
Interested in wasting a few hours away on the computer? Renegade has been loading the vendor list, and it's quite a list. I noticed a few of my favorites from last year are back, plus many excellent additions.

the factory
I know I've mentioned that Renegade Fair is coming soon, and Cristina will be selling her dishtowels this year. While I was off making jam, she turned the house into a printing factory, cleverly hanging lines down the hallway and across the kitchen. She hung about 30 without any trouble.
